STOP repeating your patterns like this.
👎 Must reduce size and snap in place to tile
👎 Time consuming
👎 Easiest with square canvases
👎 Prone to misalignments and hairlines
👎 Can’t change colors easily
👎 Uses flattened artwork or lots of groups
👎 Once you reduce size, you can’t scale back up (quality loss)

There’s a (much) better way
✅ Paint in your pattern
✅ Quick, easy, beginner-friendly process
✅ Easy to change colors before or after
✅ Keeps your layers
✅ Easy to change size
✅ High res and print ready
✅ Works with any size canvas
✅ Brushes are reusable and sellable

A beginner friendly, repeatable process
Inside Pattern Combo Brushes in Procreate, you’ll learn the simple, repeatable process for creating multi-colored, multi-layered pattern brushes, so you can build a custom pattern brush library that looks polished, works flawlessly and makes creating in Procreate faster (and more fun!).
This is a pattern *and* a brush making course

When I first started making my own patterns, it was so frustrating.
There were hairlines, flattened layers (it was hard to make changes easily) and figuring out how to fix simple misalignments was a nightmare.
After years of trial and error (and way too many wasted hours), I discovered a process that just works…every.single.time. And not only for perfect, repeat patterns, but also for converting patterns into combo brushes, so they can be painted instantly into any size canvas.
- Multi-colored? ✅
- Recolorable? ✅
- Multi-layered? ✅
- No tiling a silly little square? ✅✅✅
Oh, and they're print-ready and high resolution, too 🤩
I built this course so you don’t have to struggle like I did. Instead, you’ll get the exact steps, examples and templates that will have you confidently making your own pattern combo brushes right away.
What you’ll learn in this course

Brush Making 101
Learn the basics of brush making with the individual settings explained, so you can use them for any future drawing brushes you create.

Pattern Brush Specifics
Building upon the regular brush settings, learn which options to adjust to make consistently seamless pattern brushes that combine perfectly with others.

Full Drop Patterns WITH Layers
You'll learn my process for creating perfectly seamless, full drop style patterns that retain your layers, so you have full control to edit every element of your pattern.

How to Use Pattern Canvas Templates
Your enrollment includes several pattern canvas templates, so you'll have a starting point to keep your pattern balanced, no matter your skill level.

Pattern Planning Strategies
During the design phase, we discuss layer order, how many colors we'll need to accommodate and how to position elements based on those decisions.

One Color Seamless Pattern Brushes
We start out simple, with a one color pattern brush so you'll have all the basics down, even if you're new to Procreate.

2 and 3 Color Combo Brush Sets
The course was designed to increase in complexity as it progresses, building all the way to a 3 color combo brush set with 4 separate brushes.

Use Existing Art in Your Patterns
If you'd like to use previously created art in your patterns, you'll learn how to move that artwork into a pattern canvas while keeping all of your layers intact.

How to Layer Combo Brushes
During the design phase, we go over layer order in detail, so when the brushes are created, their painting order fulfills our design goals perfectly.

How to Test Your Patterns + Brushes
You'll learn how to check your patterns throughout the process to guarantee its success, then how to test and adjust your brushes after they've been made.

Pattern Combo Brushes vs. Pattern Tile
Learn the best scenarios for using combo brushes vs. tiling

Common Troubleshooting Solutions
Avoid hairlines, group selections and other common issues with these easy fixes.

Class projects
Create seamless, dynamic patterns AND pattern combo brush sets!
Plan, design + create 6 patterns and pattern combo brush sets + 1 bonus project!
Everything you need to create each project is included, along with full beginner friendly step-by-step video instruction.

Waves Pattern Brush
Project 1
We kick off with a simple, beginner-friendly one color pattern brush! We'll freehand the design on a blank canvas and walk through every step to make these organic, horizontal 'waves' a seamless repeat. Once we test and tweak our pattern, we'll convert it into a finished pattern brush you can use right away. 🌊

Scattered Branches
Project 2
Building onto what we learned in Project 1, we'll use a pattern canvas template as our design base. Working in a loose, sketchy style, we'll paint leafy branches, test and refine the repeat and convert it into another one color brush. Because we're working smarter – not harder – we'll reuse elements from Project 1 to speed up our process and make it even more efficient! 🌿

Paperclips Pattern Combo Brush Set
Project 3
It's time to create our first combo brush set! Using a pattern canvas template, we'll paint (or stamp) playful paperclips in two colors arranged in a scatter pattern. You'll learn how to keep your layers organized so when it's time to convert the artwork into brushes, everything lines up and your combo brushes work seamlessly. 📎

Simple Flowers Pattern Combo Brush Set
Project 4
In this 2 color combo brush set project, we'll build on everything we've done so far. Using a pattern template, we'll create sketchy flowers that overlap and interact as both fills and outlines. You'll learn how to fine tune your pattern until it looks exactly as you'd like before converting it into separate brushes that layer perfectly together. As a bonus, you'll also learn how to convert your finished pattern design into your own reusable template 🌸

Pencil Scribbles Pattern Combo Brush Set
Project 5
We turn up the fun in Project 5 with an extra layer of complexity – this time, creating a 3 color pattern combo brush set! Using a pattern template, we'll design energetic, organic 'scribbles' that interact with two pencils for a pattern filled with energy! You'll learn how to separate stamp brush elements, recolor efficiently, test and refine iterations and finally convert your pattern into a multi-layered combo brush set full of personality. ✏️

Scissors Pattern Combo Brush Set
Project 6
In the final project of the core curriculum, we combine everything we covered throughout the course *and* use existing artwork within our pattern! A 'scissor' Procreate file is provided that we pull from one canvas into our pattern canvas, retaining our layers and reusing without compromising quality. We also create a custom dashed line brush together, then use that custom drawing brush in our pattern as a dynamic cut line our scissors follow in the design! ✂️

Love Mugs Pattern Combo Brush Set
BONUS: Project 7
What happens when a multi-colored pattern combo brush set doesn't go as planned? In this bonus project, you'll see how to fix layer order issues that affect your brush quantity and we'll create a cute love mugs pattern at the same time! 💗

BONUS MODULE: Troubleshooting Tips
This module is packed with tips and easy fixes for common pattern making issues like gaps, misalignments and broken repeats. Plus, you’ll learn the best practices for when to use your pattern combo brushes vs. your pattern tiles.

Let’s Make Something Beautiful Together

If we haven’t met before, my name is Teela, and I’ve been in love with all things pattern and stationery since my graphic design college days back in 2004 🎨
Stationery design templates were actually the first digital products I ever offered (many featuring – you guessed it – patterns!). One of my pattern tutorials from 2015 on YouTube has even reached over 1.3M views! Since then, I’ve spent years experimenting, refining and sharing everything I’ve learned, which is why I’m so excited to bring together two of my favorite things in this course: patterns *and* brushes.

For years, I struggled with Procreate’s one color brush limitations (and those color dynamics weren't doing us any favors). But when I started combining brushes, everything changed. I discovered a way to paint multi-element, multi-layered patterns using any colors I wanted – no tiling, no gaps, no tedious recoloring. Just a simple, repeatable process that works every time.
Now, that same process is what I’m sharing inside this course. You’ll learn how to create seamless, reusable pattern combo brush sets that you can use again and again – for your art, your shop/website or even your next product idea ✨
You can turn any pattern you create into a dynamic combo brush set that paints beautifully and saves you hours of work. I can’t wait to show you how. 💗
Requirements for this course
Procreate App (v.5.4 or newer)
This course was filmed using v.5.4 of the Procreate app, so you'll need to be on that version or newer to fully follow along.
Apple iPad
We utilize pressure variation within many of the designs, so you'll need to have an iPad that supports pressure sensitivity.
An iPad Stylus (pressure sensitive)
Since we're utilizing pressure sensitivity settings, you'll need a stylus that is compatible with your iPad. An Apple Pencil is recommended (not the USB-C one). A compatibility list of Apple Pencils is available here.
Familiarity with the Procreate interface
A basic familiarity with Procreate is all you'll need to get started! If you're brand new to Procreate, I recommend taking my free Procreate for Beginners course first so you'll be able to follow along more comfortably.
You may be wondering...
What if I've never created a pattern and/or brushes in Procreate before?
Perfect – you'll skip all the trial and error and jump straight into what works.
I'm brand new to Procreate, will I be able to follow along?
The course was created with beginners in mind and increases in complexity as it progresses. If this is one of your first times using Procreate, check out my free Procreate for Beginners course first and you'll cruise through more comfortably.
I've already taken your Floral Patterns in Procreate course. How is this one different?
Floral Patterns in Procreate focused on creating repeat patterns using the three main pattern types, while Pattern Combo Brushes in Procreate takes those skills to the next level.
In this course, you'll learn how to turn full drop patterns into combination brushes, so instead of simply repeating a pattern, you'll be painting with it. The focus here is on brush creation and customization, not just pattern layout.
If you've already taken Floral Patterns, you'll have a strong foundation that makes this course even more fun! You'll move faster, can utilize all 3 pattern types for your combo brushes and you'll start outputting and painting with them in no time!
What do I need to take this course?
You'll need an iPad that supports pressure sensitivity along with a compatible stylus (check out this list; do not get the USB-C one) and the Procreate app (v.5.4 or newer) installed. That's it!
I don't think I have time for this?
All Every Tuesday courses come with lifetime access, so you can take it at the time and pace that works best for you. It's yours for the long haul!
Do you offer any refunds?
This course is backed by our 14 day guarantee. If you feel your skills haven't improved after taking the course, send us an email before the 14 days is up for a full refund.
Does this class come with subtitles/closed captions?
Yes! English subtitles are included for every video.
How long do I get access?
All Every Tuesday courses come with lifetime access, so once you enroll, it's yours for good.
Can I sell the class projects I recreate on my own?
The projects in the class are my own original concepts and designs, so you can't recreate them and sell them (you can use them as much as you'd like for personal projects!). You *can* use all the methods, templates, processes, colors and brushes to create your own original work and sell that, though!
I have more questions. How can I get in touch?
Head to my contact page or reply to any past email you've received from me. I'm just an email away!
