We’ll ease into the course with a leafy branch painted in the graphic style–a perfect warm up to explore bold shapes, soft textures and playful contrast. You’ll get comfortable with the core steps of this style, including how to generate isolation gradient maps for highlights and shadows, blend pastel and acrylic textures, and finish it off with a broken dry brush outline that helps the branch pop from the background in a bold, striking way.

Once the base is set, we’ll slow down and build in refined textures and highlights–then finish it all with a warm watercolor background to tie everything together.
