Digital products changed my life and saved me from a spirit-crushing 9-5

In 2015, After 3+ years working at a design studio, I was still getting passed over for projects I knew were a perfect fit. I didn’t want to freelance, so the year before, I began creating digital products in my style, making vector doodles, then invitation templates, courses and clipart.

This led to an opportunity with Canva where I created some of the first templates ever sold there!

But that was just the beginning of a much bigger story.

Use what you’ve got

What started as a few texture clipart packs and templates eventually became fonts, courses, patterns, brushes and more, all listed on a simple online storefront.

And every time I created a new product, I realized I used the same foundation: Finding new ways to package the skills I already had to create useful products for other creatives.

A repeatable process

That’s why I feel so strongly that this possibility isn’t reserved for a certain ‘type’ of artist.

Whether you’re a digital illustrator, ceramicist, woodworker, stained glass artist, painter, lettering artist or writer, the work you already love making may be far more valuable (and versatile!) than you think.

And you don’t have to be an expert or turn your art into an overnight hustle to test the waters.

Procreate Patterns

A year from now you’ll wish you started today

When my 9-5 creative opportunities remained scarce in 2015, I had a way out.

It was *all* because I had spent the previous year experimenting with digital products (I had less than 5k in my audience and no groundbreaking biz idea).

You don’t need to be an expert

If you have knowledge and experience beyond someone just starting out in your niche or craft, there are multiple ways to monetize it with digital products.

Think back to when you first started – what do you know now or are able to create now that you couldn’t before? There’s value there. 💫

FAQ

You may be wondering...

What are some examples of digital products?

Many artists begin with something simple, like printables, cheat sheets, checklists or guides, but other popular products include program-specific files, templates, clipart, fonts, courses, workshops, memberships and more!

Are online courses covered in this class?

Since we’re focusing on easy-to-execute digital product ideas (that you could complete in a weekend), online courses are not covered here, but you’ll learn the framework that can be applied to the more time intensive digital products you create in the future!

I don’t have an audience, is this a problem?

To sell organically, you’ll need to promote your product on social media and I share the (non cringey) strategies I used to do this for my top selling digital products inside the course.

I don’t know what to sell

Then you’ve come to the right course! I share several tools and brainstorming methods you can use to come up with multiple profitable digital product ideas, specific to your background, experience and skills.

I’m not techy

Some of the easiest digital products to get started with are pdf printables, guides, checklists, cheat sheets, workbooks and educational materials. In the course, there is a dedicated video to create these with the free version of Canva using pre-made templates – no experience required!

I don’t consider myself an expert

The good news is, you don’t have to! If you have knowledge and experience beyond someone just starting out in your niche or craft, there are ways to monetize it with digital products and I’ll show you how.

How long can I access this course?

All of our courses are pre-recorded and include lifetime access.

Are subtitles available?

All videos include English, Spanish, French and German subtitles. Need one not listed? Get in touch and we can help!

Do you offer refunds?

Because this course gives instant access to all content, all sales are final. If something unexpected comes up or the course isn’t what you hoped for, please reach out. I’m always happy to consider individual circumstances with care.

I have more questions. How can I get in touch?

Head to my contact page or reply to any past email you’ve received from me. I’m just an email away!
